Experience

I’m a senior web developer and creative technologist with a background that spans design, front-end development, WordPress/PHP platforms, accessibility, digital production, and the infrastructure that supports them.

My work has ranged from long-term ownership of large WordPress systems and corporate websites to interactive front-end projects, campaign production, accessibility remediation, and technical troubleshooting. I’m comfortable working across design, development, content systems, and production environments, and I tend to be most useful where those areas overlap.

Long-term development and technical support for SCA Health’s corporate websites and WordPress multisite network serving hundreds of healthcare facility websites.

I’ve served as the sole developer on the multisite project through Dept-11 since its early days. What began as a five-site pilot grew into a network encompassing more than 300 site projects over time, with responsibilities expanding alongside the platform.

My work has included custom WordPress/PHP development, multisite administration, site launches, accessibility remediation, analytics and marketing integrations, server infrastructure, security remediation, and ongoing production support. I’ve also supported stand-alone corporate and partnership websites outside the core multisite network.

More recently, I’ve been heavily involved in a large infrastructure migration, coordinating database and media migration, Linux and Apache/PHP-FPM configuration, DNS cutovers, SSL certificates, redirects, QA, and post-launch validation.

The work has required close collaboration with agency, client, IT, security, and infrastructure teams, along with clear communication with nontechnical stakeholders during launches, migrations, and production issues.

Recent project work has included custom WordPress development, interactive mapping, accessibility and technical remediation, and product prototyping across agency, nonprofit, and small-business projects.

Selected work includes a custom WordPress website and care assessment workflow for Manor on 1st, Leaflet-based interactive mapping and WordPress integration for Bay Air Center, accessibility and analytics remediation for the Yolo Bypass Cache Slough Partnership, and a custom Laravel/Vue ordering prototype for Midlife Slices.

Work across these projects has included front-end implementation, custom PHP/WordPress development, responsive design, CMS workflows, analytics setup, interactive JavaScript, GIS/map integration, Laravel/PHP application development, and e-commerce integration.

I’ve worked with agencies and brands on high-volume digital advertising production for many years, building animated display campaigns across a wide range of clients, industries, formats, and media specifications.

Alongside display advertising, I’ve also developed campaign landing pages and small promotional websites, carrying supplied creative into responsive, production-ready web experiences.

My work includes HTML5 banner development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and GSAP, along with animation sequencing, SVG and bitmap asset optimization, multi-size campaign adaptation, clickTag implementation, file-size management, QA, vendor-spec compliance, and final release packaging. I’m comfortable stepping into established agency workflows, working from supplied creative, and turning campaign concepts into reliable production-ready units efficiently.

The work began with Flash-based standard and rich-media advertising and evolved into HTML5 production as the industry changed platforms. Animation, timing, visual detail, optimization, and technical constraints have been part of my workflow for a long time. More recently, I’ve increasingly used SVG for vector artwork and typography where appropriate to keep assets sharp and file sizes lean.

Selected clients and brands have included U.S. Cellular, Sears, Conagra Brands, CIBC / The Private Bank, Quaker Oats, Corner Bakery, US Foods, Feeding America, Presence Health, GE HealthCare, Aspen Dental, and others.

My career began in graphic design and production, working in agency environments on branding, advertising, and interactive projects. As the web evolved, so did my interests, and I gradually moved from designing digital experiences into developing them.

During the Flash and ActionScript era, I built interactive websites supported by custom PHP/MySQL content-management systems, using XML to deliver content to dynamic interfaces. Projects included websites for Le Bernardin in New York and Sepia in Chicago, combining visual presentation with custom development and content management.

That background in design, animation, and production continues to inform how I work today. It helps me collaborate across creative and technical teams, understand the intent behind a design, and translate ideas into functional websites with attention to both the visual details and the underlying implementation.
